Surface treatments
If you have needs to treat your parts following CNC machining, we are able to provide many services including the following to bring your project to completion:
Anodizing: Creates a thin oxidized layer that makes the surface of the part non-conductive. It also makes the surface of the part harder. Offered for aluminum, stainless steel, and titanium (Tiodize) materials. Common anodizing solutions include Type II and Type III.
Passivation: A treatment to stainless steel that creates an oxide layer that protects the material from corrosion. The most popular materials that receive passivation include 303, 304/304L, and 316 stainless steels.
Chemical Film Coating: Also called “Chem-Film” or chromate coating this treatment adds a thin protective layer that provides corrosion resistance to aluminums. This is often done in accordance with MIL-DTL-5541 with common variants being Type I (Class 1A and Class 3).Type II, Class 1A ; Type II, Class 3
Mechanical Assembly: We are excited to work with you to assemble the mechanical aspects of your assembly. Examples of parts we routinely install include Heli-Coils, rivets, and fastener. If your part requires further mechanical assembly, please let us know the details and we can provide more information about our team’s capabilities.
Heat Treating: Heat treating alters the physical properties of many steel materials to improve hardness, toughness, and ductility. Common heat treating techniques that we provide for our customers through third parties include: Annealing, Case hardening, Strengthening, and Tempering.
Hexagon Machine & Mfg keeps inventory of Long Term Agreement orders and utilizes Kanban replenishment systems to stock our customers’ products. This enables us to deliver on long term contracts even if there’s a surge in demand.
We recognize the need for customers to audit their suppliers and ensure compliance with said customer requirements before upgrading a supplier to a certain quality level, committing to LTA’s, and otherwise placing orders.
At Hexagon, we strive to conform to customer requirements and welcome audits. We’re open to creating procedures and traceability requirements in order to be approved by our customers.
Hexagon Machine works with a variety of suppliers to meet customer requirements for heat treating, painting, anodizing and other processes, offering several levels of traceability through suppliers that are ISO certified, AS9100 compliant, and Nadcap approved.
As an option, we install hardware, assemble, and test customer products. Non-recurring Engineering can be used for developing appropriate test fixturing.
